Why We Loved It
Glencoe is one of those places that feels cinematic from the moment you arrive. Towering mountains, shifting weather and vast open views create a sense of scale that is hard to describe until you see it for yourself.
We loved the way every drive through the valley felt different. One moment the peaks were wrapped in cloud, the next the light would break through and transform the whole landscape. It is a dream destination for scenery, photography and walking.
It also works brilliantly for motorhome touring because you can combine iconic viewpoints, short scenic stops and longer walks without feeling rushed. Even a simple coffee stop beside the mountains becomes a memorable part of the trip.

Isle of Skye
Scotland’s Most Magical Island
Skye feels wild, dramatic and endlessly photogenic. Every turn seems to reveal another cliff, ridge, waterfall or sea view, and it is one of those places where the journey is every bit as memorable as the stops themselves.
We loved the variety here. One day can be all about famous viewpoints like the Old Man of Storr or the Quiraing, while the next can be slower and more relaxed with coastal drives, castle visits and quiet moments watching the weather roll in.
For motorhome touring it is unforgettable, but it does reward planning. Roads can be narrow, popular spots get busy and booking ahead is essential if you want the best base for exploring.

More Than Just Nessie
Loch Ness is far more than a famous name. It is a dramatic stretch of water framed by forests, hills and castle ruins, and it works beautifully as a touring base because there is a strong mix of scenery, history and easy day trips.
We loved the contrast here. One moment you can be standing at Urquhart Castle looking across the loch, and the next you are enjoying a quieter stop at Fort Augustus or chasing waterfalls nearby. It feels iconic, but still rewarding beyond the legend.
